I know the amount of Warriors readers on Blogger are few and far between. But hey, lets give it a shot. No?

Yes that is the infamous POPCORN dorm from AWG. We were all so proud at how darn messy it was. In fact we still dont know what color the carpet was...

AWG= Cold, cold more cold and PTARMIGAN?!

Fweee. Okay AWG went well. But there was some maijor cold. Every morning it was -30 c.
Yes.
- 3 0 c. ( I think I'll shrivel up and die now. )
I was appaled too. None of our races got cancled though and that is nice. Some more interesting thing were added to biathlon. WE HAD DQ LINES! O the horror. There was a little line on either side of you're lane. And if you're ski went over it you got the DQ. 'Nuf said. So on our last race we were all shivering with cold and then out of the blue someine yells, " PTARMIGAN! " And sure enough there were a few ptarmigan scuttling around the range area. We of course thought that was darling and the cameras shot out faster than our rifles. It was a fun trip. Lots of cold lots of fun lots of, PTARMIGAN?! Ehhhh, there were so many games of ER ( Egyptian Ratscrew. ) That most of us could not feel out foreheads by the end of the trip. Oh yes good good fun. I will put up some of the ptarmigan photos soon. Oh and for those who wondered, I'M DONE WITH ECLIPSE. ( So is Trixi. )I will now leave you with the team picture.

Our dear dear Henry has been yearning for a good redpoll all winter but nada. "Zoey and Mommy have been restricting me!" Complained the poor kitten on a sunny afternoon. "They show me the prettyful pictures and then say I cant eat one."

So Cristmas is over and it's time to let the tree go. To cut down on the shedding of tears we replanted her.
So now she stands over the bird feeders. The Redpolls absoloutly adore her. And now that she is out there Hen doesnt need to fear the back of the couch. For lack of anything to post I will now giveyou a random drawing.

So we were on our way out of the range today. ( We had a good time there me skiing and Steph and Kinsey Snowshoeing. ) And I said. Gee I'm glad today was a daylight opening. Mom and Dad both agreed. And I said It just /seems/ colder at night. Again vigourous nodding from the front seat. And as far as i can tell it's true. During a daylight opening you can bet on everyone being cheerful and silly, having a great time shooting. But then when we start having nighttime openings at -1/2 Everyone gets real quiet and all you hear is the shots and " Three clicks up. " Or " I'm cold lets leave. " And yeah. Oh and as proof to my case I shot 3 out of 5 two times today, the best I had at the last pm shooting was 1.

Hia there my poor un posted blog readers. ( A staggering 1 ) I'm here to make another exuse for being inactive. Between Birding. ( Me and mom are attempting to trackdown a runaway Brambling. ) Biathalon ( The trials are in ten days. ) And drawing manga for a site I'm on. ( Oh the writers cramp. ) And setting up a graphics blog. ( Tis called Venomworks I'll give the link in a bit. ) I'm kinda busy. The manga is going well. I'll put the link up soon. Currently it's in the hands of my background artist. We are still debating weather to do it in color or the traditonal black and white. I'll post up the finished first part of the inro in about a week. ( Darn this is becoming a lond post. =^.^= ) I've also been reading ( and agreeing with. ) Pheobes blog. It really is good. I will make up for the lack of pictures with a cute little smile.

Okay so you're all wondering who the heck is Picasso. Well he is a tiny Black capped chickadee that we rescued from a cat. We drove him down to the Bird TLC. And had a slight explosion at the parking lot. Picasso got out of his box and ended up in the crack between my seat and the door. Well we calmed him down and put him back in his box. The took him in and Vivi broke down in the car. Oh and Happy 5th Viv!

Inactiveness.

So if you hadnt noticed I have been really inactive. No posts after the snow melts. The summer was spent almost completely in London,Paris and SC. The birding in the latter was wonder ful. Snowy and White Erets. Male Painted buntings. ( con sidered a bragging right. ) And probably the best, White and Glossy Ibises. Sadly my camera has no zoom whatsoever, so pictures are limeted. I ahve been catching up with the birdies around here. Mainly Chickadees and your average Downy Woodpecker. This afternoon we had some interesting adventures and named Picasso. But thats another post.

Infulenza...A chance to sketch.

Well as the title states I have influenza.And when I'm not passed out on the couch or watching Mel Brooks film Silent Movie I'm sketching Boreal Chickadees.
This is much to my moms delight.The hardest part about sketching them is actually the coloring making the greys blend to the brown and so forth.But what the heck it's worth it.But now I'm blogging and surfing the web eating a chocholate bunny and drinking tea.Any how I leave you with pictures and sketches of random birs.

My absence over the last day was spent working out a plan for a bird box.
The hopeful resedent is a dark eyed junco.We have this one junco that apparently didn't want to migrate.
And so he hangs out around our house.We adore his lively behavior and welcome his visits.And with the take down feeders date coming up fast we would like him ( or her. ) And it's next mate to hang out.So me and dad are scratching our heads and wondering if he'll come. ( We think were more likely to get a tree swallow. ) If he doesen't we'll probably get a differen't kind of bird. Like a tree swallow ( What did I say? ) And thats fine too.They keep down the poopulation of Mosqitos. ( Thank heavens for that! ) And are just a flat out pretty bird.My camera is having errors so I'll have to use moms or just get junco pictures off the web.Either way niether cameras took a verey good picture of my junco scetch,so you wont get to see it's full glory.
Hmmm mabye I'll do a post on Boreal chickadees next?Who knows.

Birds that start with 'G'

Some of my favorite birds are the ones that start with 'G'.

Take Pine grosbeaks for instance.

Their colors contrast to create an image of an undicided sky.
They are some of the larger birds that come to our feeders and are kinder then the ever present Magpies or Grey jays. ( Yes the Grey jays will be in this post. ) They are rather approachable ( if you're quiet. ) And mainly ground feed. ( As opposed to hanging feeders. ) The picture above is of a female pine grossbeak.Unlike the males which are a majority of red and less grey.The females are a small amount of yellow with the majority of grey.

Or Grey jays.

They are about the size of a Pine grossbeak or a small Magpie.They aren't opposed to ground feeding but they mainly eat from out hanging suet feeders.We have a trio of them that come around and scare off the redpolls.Thier shape is a lot like a Chickadees and thier coloration is a lot like a black capped chickadee.( They have slightly more white on thier heads. )They too are approchable and will only scare if you come within a foot or make a sudden movement.Males and females have the same coloration.If you are trying to tell them apart size would be the main factor.Sadly I haven't seen thier behavior as much as the Grossbeaks so I can't tell you as much about them.
